Cycle 1

Make sure you have...

  • Watch the Projects Video
  • Set up your Portfolio. If you mess up or miss something, ask for help. DO NOT DELETE it if you mess it up. We can fix it, but we cannot un-delete your account!

Now...

  • Go look at this. Watch all of the videos on this page...
    • Watch the videos (all of them!). There are some on the side.
    • Go to the Weebly / Blogger site you set up for class.
    • Copy / Paste this Pledge to a Blog post, titled "My design pledge" (Ctrl + C... Right click won't work)
    • Add at least 3 of your own items to the list.
    • Post your list to Edmodo in the Graphic Design Group
      • Bonus Quest: make a full Blog post out of your list with picture and explanation.


Part 2: Making Good Design

Okay, so I’m currently of the opinion that tools are not the be all and end all of design. I used to be in love with Adobe Creative Suite (eg Photoshop & Illustrator), but I’ve been doing a lot of design lately on my phone with free apps... no kidding. The following techniques can work in just about any program. I wouldn't recommend it, but you could even use Word.

Part 3 Design Specializations

The field of Graphic design is as varied as any other creative field. In Art, for example, there are sculptors, painters, illustrators, etc. In graphic design, there are a lot of specializations. Check these out. You can focus in on one section and do an in-depth study or you can just try everything.
